A day of music and dance to thank Barbara and all teachers like her.
Born in Warwickshire, Barbara dedicated her life to teaching children across Leamington. So, when she passed away from cancer, it wasn’t surprising many of her former pupils came forward wanting to ‘do something’ to celebrate her life and continue her work.The Barbara O’Rourke Arts Foundation is the embodiment of that affection and spirt.
‘We Can Dance’ is the launch event of the Foundation and offers a day of music and dance, produced byBarbara’s students and friends past and present. During the day former pupils, who knew Barbara well, will share their poignant memories of her and how her teaching helped them become who they are today. The day will help raise awareness and support for The Barbara O’Rourke Arts Foundation and to raise funds to support today’s pupils who couldn’t otherwise afford to dance.
